A better choice

Is 5-hour Energy a better choice?
Although drinking energy drinks are not recommended by doctors, people are still going to take the risk for that burst of energy they need. Throughout this research I have found that the best one to consume would be the 5-hour energy product. According to healthlifeandstuff.com, 5-hour energy consist of vitamin B12, vitamin B6, niacin and a energy blend. Research from this site showed that the vitamins that 5-hours consist of has no long term effects on you. Vitamin B12 is involved in the synthesis and repair of damaged cells. Vitamin B6 is involved in energy production in the body. These two vitamin are increased in this little shot and help sustain the right levels for your body. Niacin is involved in general a healthy nutrient and works to improve your good cholesterol levels. The energy blend that this little bottle possess is a mix of taurine, glucuronolactone and caffeine, among others. Even though this bottle has caffeine in it, it still has less than the average canned energy drink which can range from 260-300mg. This little shot only possess 200mg of caffeine in it. Daily intake of caffeine is roughly 300 per day. In the long run 5- hour Energy is a better overall choice for the energy seeking consumers. This energy drink is good in moderation at a time. Be smart when consuming energy drinks, know what you are putting in your body.

Long-Term Effects

Long-Term Effects
Many energy drink enthusiast don't take account for the long term effects that they are drinking down. According to Healthguide.org, there is misleading information floating around about ingredient that these sugary caffeinated drinks possess. For example, a lot of known brands such as Monster, Rockstar, Full Throttle, Red Bull all contain a ingredient known as guarana. Which is what these brand names are saying is a better alternate for caffeine. When in fact the chemical in guarana, which is guarine gives us that 'boost' that people like. But, what these companies don't tell you is that guarine is just another name for caffeine, guarine is just from another plant. Caffeine being the main long-term affect in these drinks have built up long-term effects. Such as Diuretic Dependence, Cardiovascular Disease and Osteoporosis. Diuretic dependence is explained that most diet pills that people take have a diuretic in them to help retain water, which in fact it is simply caffeine. This caffeine is used to provide extra energy to dieter they aren't getting from food. But over time this can lead to dependence on caffeine to stimulate kidney function and if you suddenly deprive yourself of it, serious consequences such as loss of kidney function and a build up of toxic urea. Another long-term effect that can happen is cardiovascular disease. Caffeine is known to speed up your heart rate and elevate your blood pressure, there is a grown concern for people who have constantly drank energy drinks all their lives. Data has shown that drinking these potent energy drinks has lead to arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries. Not only does it put you at risk for heart disease, but you may also be at an increased risk for strokes. The last long-term effect is the least talked publicized risk factor, that factor being Osteoporosis. Studies have shown a direct correlation between caffeine with the onset of and rate in which osteoporosis is evidenced in the body. This has been suspected due to how caffeine promotes the loss of calcium. There has not been sufficient evidence to prove this true as of right now, but evidence is leaning that way.

What Caffeine really does!

What Caffeine really does to your body!
Caffeine is an addicting drug, which is affecting 90% of Americans according to Coolquiz.com caffeine is found in coffee, energy drinks and all sorts of other progressive active drinks out there. Little do people know that caffeine in its natural state alters the brain, and stimulates it in a manner similar to the amphetamines cocaine and heroin.
The mechanical works between caffeine cocaine and heroin are closely related. These three drugs close blood vessels, so that the body and brain cannot sleep. This happens to cause a release of adrenaline in the body so that it stays up and alert. Caffeine also alters dopamine productions in the brain so people feel a certain "high". With that being said, this causes people to have a certain addiction to caffeine. According to Coolquiz.com, having more then 300 mg of caffeine per day, will make people suffer from withdrawal symptoms if they abruptly cut off their caffeine supply. Caffeine is not only found in large amounts in energy drinks, but are also found in other products such as from coffee, to tea, to colas, to milk chocolate, and to pain relievers, just to mention a few. But, my argument is not on those other products just the cast amounts that energy drinks have. With such a active society today, people are always looking for some boost of energy. A lot of people turn to big named energy drinks such as Monster, Rockstar, Amp, NOS, Red Bull and Redline. All these drinks have things in common, caffeine being the main one. What a lot of people don't know is that to much caffeine is bad for you, that being because big named companies don't tell you the effects. These effects include, symptoms of fatigue and depression, irritability, tremors, jumpiness, deprivation of deep sleep, and vascular headaches, as the blood vessels in the brain dilate. These are not life-threatening effects, but this is just coming from one of the ingredients that energy drinks possess.
